A box of books and papers on the floor

It’s that time of year for so many of us.  That’s right, PCS season.  Time to get up out of dodge!  Time to purge and pack your crap and go.  When I first became a Navy wife Facebook didn’t exist.  The only thing accessible in meeting others outside of your local friends was a thing called chat groups or the phone hook-up. Yep, I was in a chat group on Yahoo.  And yes, I did meet a spouse moving to the same area I was.  Nowadays you have the ease of joining very specific groups for your new duty station.  BUT, before you can get to your new duty station to meet your new BFF, you gotta get your stuff packed and shipped.  So….a couple of things people ask me is, “how do I like moving every couple of years and for PCS TIPS.

Let me be straightforward with you real quick.  I LOVE PCSing for several reasons and I will share that in a future post, but I am NOT the person to ask for PCS TIPS.  Why?  This gal is a procrastinator.  Yep!  However, I do believe in keeping things as simple and organized as possible.  No, I don’t go totally insane when we move.  But, again, I am a procrastinator.

I always think of the P = purge.  I know that it means Permanent but in my mind it means purge.  And purging can be toward so many different things.  Hmmmm…yes, I got a post on that one too.

My attempt at preparing for this PCS is at level zero.  Nothing.  For real, for real.  You would be so mad at me right now.  That top photo, that’s as far as I’ve gotten.  Yep, one box!

Ok, maybe that’s a far stretch cause I’ve spent a lot of time looking for a place to live.  But, you know what?  I’ve given up on that search too.

After waking up this morning in my clothes from yesterday.  Yeah, the struggle is real over here.  I told my hubby that we are done looking.  Just let the chips fall where they fall.

So, after I dropped the kids off at school and finished my phone call, I grabbed my cup of coffee and headed out to enjoy a little bit of Hawaii’s sunshine.

No worries, everything will be purged, sorted for packing or staying behind with us before next week.  Yep, I work best under pressure.  I will have my life together before the moving crew arrives.  I just can’t promise there won’t be some crazy woman action going on, but this isn’t our first rodeo.  I got this!

And no, I won’t leave you hanging.  I will provide you updates on how it’s going.
