Hello, FABulous mamas! 👋 It’s Sybil here (aka MomJonz), and I’ve got a little weekend reminder for you. We’ve made it through another week, and yes, the weekend is finally here. But before you dive headfirst into errands, family events, sports practices, and that never-ending to-do list, I have one question for you:
How are YOU spending your weekend?
Now, I’m not talking about the hustle and bustle of chauffeuring kids around, restocking the pantry, or tackling everyone else’s madness. I’m asking: Where’s the time for YOU?
Why Your “Busy” Excuse Has to Go
I already know what some of you are about to say—“But Sybil, I’m soooo busy!” Y’all. That word is like nails on a chalkboard to me. I cringe every single time I hear it. Yes, life is full. Yes, people need you. But guess what? You need YOU, too.
Sleep doesn’t count. (Sorry, not sorry.) That’s rest time, not “ME” time.
Skip the 15 Minutes—Go for the Hour
You’ve heard me preach before about carving out at least 15 minutes a day just for yourself. But this weekend, I’m telling you to go bigger. Forget the 15. I want you to give yourself 60 whole minutes each day.
- Saturday: Block off one solid hour that’s all about you.
- Sunday: Do it again. Yep, another full hour.
That’s two hours out of 48—and you’re worth every second.
Permission to Cancel, Granted
Take a look at your weekend calendar. See something on there that doesn’t really need to happen? Cross it off. Cancel it. Reschedule it. I’m officially giving you permission to take that time back for yourself.
Use it to read a book, sip a latte, take a bubble bath, go for a walk, or just sit in silence without anyone calling your name. Whatever fills you up, do that.
Bonus: Share Your Pets 🐾
And hey—don’t forget to join our Facebook group at Mamas and Coffee®, Saturdays are Pet Day! We share pics of our fur babies, and it always brings smiles to our community. So while you’re soaking up your hour of me-time, snap a cute photo of your pet and share it with us.
Your Weekend Challenge
So here’s your challenge, straight from me to you:
Out of the 48 hours in your weekend, dedicate at least two hours minimum just for YOU.
No guilt. No excuses. Just permission to pause, breathe, and remember to Know You Be You Love You®.
Have a FABulous weekend, mama. And don’t forget to come back Monday refreshed (and ready to share how you spent that me-time!).
